Jackson Mahomes Younger Brother Arrested in Kansas for Sexual Battery

The 22-year-old was arrested Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. and booked into a detention center. He posted $100,000 bond and was released, court records show.  Jackson Mahomes has risen to fame over the recent years with his social media content, including his TikTok account which has over a million followers:

Jackson is the younger brother of NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes.  He has been charged with aggravated sexual battery stemming from an alleged incident that occurred in a restaurant in Overland Park, Kansas back in February.  His next court appearance is scheduled for May 11.

Jackson Mahomes has been ordered not to speak about the case publicly as a condition of his bond. Although the details of the probable cause affidavit have not been released, it has been confirmed that the incident involved Jackson Mahomes and a woman at the restaurant. The owner of the restaurant Aspens Lounge (Mr. Vaughn), stated that Jackson had been a regular customer of hers and had been friendly earlier in the day. However, after returning to the restaurant later that night, he allegedly grabbed her by the neck with enough force to leave a bruise and forcibly kissed her at least twice.  He is also accused of shoving a man who works at the restaurant.

Vaughn reported the incident to the police, and Jackson Mahomes was arrested and charged. Jackson’s attorney, Brandan Joseph Davies, stated that he and his client are not allowed to comment on the case due to a court order. However, he previously released a statement in March stating that there was “substantial evidence refuting the claims of Jackson’s accuser.”

Jackson’s legal team released the following statement:

“We have provided law enforcement with the tools and evidence they need to evaluate the claims against Jackson,” the statement read, per KCTV. “Every interaction between people needs to be placed in the proper context. Releasing a short clip of any video does not provide proper context. We have faith in the process and look forward to a swift resolution of the matter.”

Prosecutors allege Mahomes “unlawfully and feloniously touch[ed] the person of another … who did not consent to the touching, with the intent to arouse or satisfy the sexual desires of the offender or another” and “unlawfully and knowingly cause[d] physical contact with another person … done in a rude, insulting, or angry manner.”

If convicted Mahomes could be facing more than five years in prison and be on the sex offender registry for the next 25 years.

The Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes’ team, declined to to make any comment on the matter, saying it was a personal matter involving the relative of a player but not a member of the organization. Patrick Mahomes himself has not commented on the matter publicly.
