Which player made the most three pointers in March Madness Tournament

The all-time leader in 3-point makes in the March Madness tournament is Glen Rice, who made 47 3-pointers in the 1989 tournament while playing for the Michigan Wolverines.

He is widely regarded as one of the greatest college basketball players of all time. Rice made a name for himself during his playing days at the University of Michigan, where he played for four seasons and led the Wolverines to the 1989 NCAA National Championship.

Born on May 28, 1967, in Jacksonville, Florida, Rice was a highly-touted basketball recruit coming out of high school. He eventually chose to play for the University of Michigan and arrived on campus in 1985, joining a talented Wolverines squad that featured future NBA players such as Roy Tarpley and Gary Grant.

Rice was an immediate impact player for Michigan, averaging 11.6 points per game in his freshman season and earning a spot on the Big Ten All-Freshman team. He continued to improve over the next few seasons, and by his junior year, he was one of the best players in the country.

In the 1988-89 season, Rice led Michigan to the Big Ten championship and the NCAA Tournament, where he had one of the greatest individual performances in tournament history. In the first round of the tournament, Rice scored 34 points and hit 6 3-pointers to lead Michigan to a win over Xavier. He followed that up with a 31-point performance in a win over South Alabama and a 29-point game in a victory over North Carolina.

But Rice saved his best for last, as he scored 184 points in Michigan’s six tournament games, including 31 points and 8 3-pointers in the championship game against Seton Hall. His 184 points in the tournament are still the most ever scored by a player in a single tournament, and his 47 made 3-pointers are also a tournament record.

Rice’s incredible tournament performance earned him numerous accolades, including being named the NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player, Big Ten Player of the Year, and a consensus first-team All-American. He finished his college career with 2,442 points, which is still the all-time scoring record at Michigan and ranks 13th in NCAA history.

After his college career, Rice was selected fourth overall by the Miami Heat in the 1989 NBA Draft. He went on to have a successful NBA career, playing for several teams over 15 seasons and earning three All-Star selections. He also won an NBA Championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2000.

In addition to his basketball career, Rice has also been involved in various business and philanthropic ventures. He founded the Glen Rice Foundation in 1991, which aims to help underprivileged children and families, and has also been involved in real estate development and other business ventures.

Overall, Glen Rice’s college career at the University of Michigan was one of the most impressive in NCAA history. His incredible shooting ability and clutch performances in the NCAA Tournament will forever be remembered as some of the greatest moments in college basketball history.
